This track came together out of thin air. I got the idea for the hook randomly, and the guitar to go with it, and I laid that down with the drums (which were actually temp drums) and just had the chorus on loop 'cause it's such an earworm to me, which is cool 'cause the singing isn't conventionally "good" by any traditional standards. But its being so weird and unconventional made me really want to drop it just to have in my catalog, so I let it breathe and it came together really naturally. None of the lyrics were written down until I transcribed them for release. I got the idea for the post-chorus eating breakfast. The verse came to me at almost midnight this random evening, and I just couldn't go to sleep until it was done. The second verse happened some days later. I think I was cooking some shit on the stove when I got the idea for the refrain. But it's all I envisioned and more from the music to the cover art, which is cool just on a level of execution. This song wasn't really supposed to happen, but subconsciously I wanted to drop something between CAREENING and the _____, so I just let it happen. Back to work.
